Together with our children, Boas and Billie, we have been living on Weverstraat in Kekerdom since 2019. When we met while traveling (Peer from Germany and Sarina from the Netherlands) on a mountain in Sri Lanka, we spoke English to each other. A few years later, when we found our dream home in Kekerdom (and were still speaking English to each other), there was a little white shed in the garden. From day one, we called that shed “The Whitehouse” for convenience. After several years of DIY projects and watching both the house and the garden slowly transform into the “home” we’d envisioned from the very first moment we walked around here, we felt in our hearts that we wanted to share this wonderful place. The idea to build a tiny house as a guesthouse on the site of the now-rotten shed—primarily for family and friends, and to rent it out occasionally—was born, and we couldn’t help but incorporate the old name into it. The TinyWhitehouse was born!

Since the summer of 2025, we’ve spent every spare moment tearing things down, doing odd jobs, building, finding and picking up treasures from Marktplaats, and building even more. We’ve done as much as possible ourselves and mostly worked with used materials. That might also describe a bit who we are: self-reliant, enterprising, seeing the beauty in the old and well-loved, living with our environmental footprint in mind, and feeling deep happiness and gratitude that we get to live here with our children in this wonderful way.
Why don't you come by sometime to check out the atmosphere? You're more than welcome!
Love,
Peer & Sarina
